ACIDD is a social enterprise with a social mission. ACIDD in Maryland provides mental health services to people with severe mental illness that belong to a priority population and to people with Intellectual Disability with co-occurring Mental Disorders in a collaborative model through an integrated care approach. The mental health services include Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP), Mental Health Vocational Program (MHVP), Psychotherapy and Counseling services, holistic psychiatric services that include alternative medicine. Services to individuals with Intellectual Disability and co-occurring Mental Disorders include besides PRP and Psychotherapy, community Residential Services, Vocational Day services, Supported Employment and various somatic care services.

Our MISSION isTo embrace, empower and help promote mental health and well being of people with severe mental illness and individuals who have a dual diagnosis of Intellectual or Developmental Disability and Mental Disorders”.

Our VISION, to which we make every effort to honor, is “to provide through holistic approach to mental health services and supports for individuals with a dual diagnosis of Intellectual Disability and co-occurring Mental Illness to live a healthy life and wellness, free of stigma, gain employment and sustain it, live independently and freely with determination, dreams and aspirations”. We endeavor to embrace all people with severe mental illness and empower them “one person at a time, one country at a time”.

ACIDD Maryland has two offices in Maryland. The administrative office is located at 300 Thomas Drive in Laurel, Maryland. The PRP/MHVP programs office for Howard County is located  at 5999 Harpers Farm Road, E-250, Columbia, Maryland. ACIDD Maryland provides its integrated care services including PRP, MHVP, and holistic psychiatric services at its Laurel office in Prince George County. The psychiatric services are coordinated by a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and the somatic care services as well as Home Health care services are coordinated by a Registered Nurse. MHVP services that lead to sustainable competitive employment in the community are offered to people with severe mental illness only. However, we offer residential and Supported Employment services to individuals who have a dual diagnosis of Intellectual or Developmental Disability and Mental Illness with the approval of DDA/DHMH. ACIDD Maryland has an integrated care approach which is positive and cost-saving to all Marylanders that are affected by severe mental illness. It also enables a neo approach of clinical treatment to individuals with the dual diagnosis of developmental disability and mental illness. Achieving high-quality individualized treatment of all people that are affected by persistent mental disorders has the potential outcome of social inclusion, independence, protection of rights, equality and self-worth for thousands of Marylanders.
